Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn Reign Supreme; Dominate IPL 2024 With 19% Share In Celebrity-Endorsed Ads – DEETS INSIDE!
Shah Rukh Khan continues to make waves in the entertainment industry. With three blockbuster releases in 2023, including Jawan and Pathaan, followed by the successful Dunki, the superstar has solidified his position as a powerhouse performer.
Now, recent reports reveal that his influence extends beyond the silver screen, as he and Ajay Devgn lead the pack in celebrity endorsements.
Shah Rukh Khan And Ajay Devgn’s Ad Form 19% Share Together At IPL 2024
A recent report from The Economic Times highlights Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn as the top celebrities for endorsing ads aired during the first 37 matches of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL).
Together, their ads accounted for a significant 19% share, according to data from TAM Sports. Notable contributors to this statistic include Sporta Technologies, Vishnu Packaging, K P Pan Foods, Playgames 24*7, and Coca-Cola India.
Comparing this year’s IPL to the previous edition, the report notes a shift in celebrity endorsement dynamics. While Aamir Khan dominated ad volumes last year, this year sees sports personalities like Virender Sehwag and Hardik Pandya taking the lead. TAM Sports data also reveals a decline in the share of celebrity-endorsed commercials to the overall TV ad volume, dropping from 75% to 61% this year. Conversely, non-celebrity ads have seen a rise from 25% to 39%.
Furthermore, the report identifies the top five categories for celebrity ads as Ecom-Gaming, Pan Masala, Aerated Soft Drink, Face Wash, and Paints, collectively contributing to 75% of ad volumes.
SRK And Ajay Devgn’s Work Front
After delivering back-to-back hits with Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki, Shah Rukh Khan has now collaborated with Sujoy Ghosh for King with daughter Suhana Khan. He will also shoot for Pathaan 2 by the end of 2024.
On the other hand, Ajay Devgn, known for his diverse roles and impactful performances, started 2023 with Shaitaan and Maidaan in 2024. He has three more releases lined up for this year – Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha on July 5, Singham Again reportedly on Diwali, and Raid 2 reportedly on November 15.
