REPORT: Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again Inspired By Ramayana; Ajay Devgn & His Cop Team Will Travel Sri Lanka To Face ‘Villain’ Arjun Kapoor Aka Modern Raavana
Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again is making waves as it reportedly draws inspiration from one of India’s most iconic epics, the Ramayana.
The third instalment in the Singham series is set to bring Ajay Devgn’s Bajirao Singham back to the screen. This time, the storyline will pit good against evil in a modern retelling of the ancient tale.
The theme of righteousness, a staple in both Singham and the Ramayana, is expected to shape the film, giving the cop drama a fresh perspective.
Singham Again Takes Inspiration From Ramayana
According to a source reported by mid-day, Singham Again is influenced by the age-old battle between good and evil, much like the epic it draws from. Rohit Shetty has reportedly designed the movie with deep cultural roots, offering something new yet familiar for fans.
As with the first two films, Ajay Devgn’s character will once again stand up against wrongdoers, but this time, with a modern twist inspired by mythology.
Arjun Kapoor As Villain To Have An Epic Showdown With Ajay Devgn & His Team In Sri Lanka
One of the biggest reveals is Arjun Kapoor’s role as the antagonist. The actor is set to play a villain modelled after Raavana, the legendary demon king from the Ramayana.
Arjun’s character, a militant, will face off against Singham and his police team, who will travel to Sri Lanka, echoing the journey of Lord Ram in the epic. This adds a uniqueness to the plot, making the conflict more intense and symbolic.
The film, set for a Diwali release, boasts a star-studded cast. Alongside Ajay Devgn, fans can expect appearances from Tiger Shroff, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Arjun Kapoor. Additionally, Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh will reprise their roles in special cameos, continuing to expand Rohit Shetty’s cop universe.
‘Simmba’ Ranveer Singh Plays Significant Role In Expanding Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe
The report further suggests that Ranveer Singh plays a key role as Simmba, and it’s rumoured that he’s been shooting for more than 50 days for the film. His character will play a vital part in shaping the future of this cop universe, which also ties in with Sooryavanshi, Lady Singham, and Satya.
The source also hinted that Singham Again could be Bollywood’s answer to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with interconnected storylines and multiple subplots weaving together.
The film’s trailer is expected to drop in October, giving fans their first look at what’s shaping up to be an action-packed, mythology-inspired cop thriller.
The movie is already generating buzz as potentially the biggest instalment in the Singham series, with predictions pointing toward it being one of the highest-grossing police dramas in Hindi cinema history.
Singham Again’s VFX Work Underway
Ajay Devgn, who returns as the fierce Bajirao Singham, continues to carry the torch as one of Bollywood’s iconic action heroes.
The visual effects are currently in the works, and you can expect promotional material to roll out around 30 to 35 days before its Diwali release. If the hype is anything to go by, Singham Again is well on its way to becoming a massive success.
