King Update: Shah Rukh Khan & Suhana To Begin Filming Siddharth Anand-Sujoy Ghosh’s Film In January 2025; Eid 2026 Release Expected
Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan are set to begin filming for King, an action-packed entertainer directed by Sujoy Ghosh and produced by Siddharth Anand and Mamta Anand in collaboration with Red Chillies Entertainment.
The highly anticipated film features SRK as a mentor and Suhana as his disciple going head-to-head with Abhishek Bachchan as the antagonist.
King Shoot To Begin In January 2025
Fans can expect intense action and a gripping storyline set in the world of crime, with the production kicking off in January 2025.
The first shooting schedule will begin in Mumbai, followed by an extended schedule across Europe. Sources close to the project revealed to Pinkvilla that the filmmakers have conducted extensive recces to find fresh, never-seen-before locations across Europe, adding a grand scale to King.
The film is set to be shot untill August or September 2025, as the actors will move between different locations for the various action sequences and other key scenes.
A source revealed, “The idea is to blend real locations with studio setups to give the right amount of realism and storytelling depth. Shah Rukh Khan is excited to explore this new territory of action in King.” The film is shaping up to introduce a new style of action with SRK taking centre stage in this dynamic role.
Shah Rukh Khan Starrer Eyeing On Eid 2026 Release
In addition to the excitement around the filming, there’s already buzz about its release. King is aiming for an Eid 2026 premiere, a festival that has historically been a successful time for SRK’s films, most notably Chennai Express.
If all goes according to plan, King will mark Shah Rukh Khan’s return to the Eid box office, setting the stage for another blockbuster release.
The film also stars Abhay Verma in a pivotal role, adding to the already star-studded cast.
Meanwhile, Siddharth Anand’s production house Marflix is gearing up for an exciting slate of films in the next two years. In addition to King, they will produce Jewel Thief with Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat, Krrish 4 starring Hrithik Roshan, and several other big-budget action films.
As for Shah Rukh Khan, once King wraps up, he is expected to dive into the much-anticipated Pathaan 2, which is part of YRF’s Spy Universe and is currently in the writing phase.
