Devara Part 1: CBFC Censors 3 Violent Scenes, Asks For CGI Mark During A Shark Scene & Grants U/A Certificate To Jr NTR’s Film – Check Runtime!
Devara Part 1 is set to bring excitement to a slow September with its release on the last Friday of the month. The much-anticipated trailer dropped on September 10 during a grand event in Mumbai, and it has only added to the growing hype around the Pan-India film.
With its star-studded cast of Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor and an action-packed narrative, Devara has become one of the most awaited films of the year.
Jr NTR’s Devara Gets U/A Certificate With Several Modifications Ahead Of Release
The film recently completed its censor process well in advance, and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has made several cuts to ensure the film adheres to guidelines.
According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the CBFC asked for four modifications, three of which are related to violent scenes.
One of the most notable changes involved a scene where a character kicks his wife. The visual of the direct kick to the stomach was removed following the CBFC’s request.
Similarly, in another scene from the second half, a character kicks his mother, and the CBFC insisted on modifying this sequence as well. The third modification required the removal of a five-second shot depicting a person’s body impaled on a sword and sliding down the weapon.
Another key change involved a CGI scene featuring Jr NTR riding a shark, which has generated a lot of buzz. The CBFC directed the makers to display a ticker confirming that the shark is computer-generated imagery (CGI), to avoid any potential viewer misconceptions.
After these changes were made, the CBFC granted Devara Part 1 a U/A certificate.
The Film Has A Duration Of 2 Hrs & 18 Mins
The film clocks in at a total runtime of 178 minutes and 3 seconds, making it nearly three hours long. With its action-heavy sequences and impressive visual effects, Devara promises to deliver a gripping experience for audiences.
Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara Part 1 boasts an ensemble cast including Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan, and Janhvi Kapoor. The film will be released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
