Newcastle risk upsetting senior player after refusing transfer
Newcastle United will not allow Kieran Trippier to leave on loan.
After being stripped of the Magpies’ captaincy and losing his starting spot to Tino Livramento, the England international made his feelings clear and asked to leave St. James’ Park in search of regular playing time.
Consequently, with the English transfer window already closed, Turkey emerged as a possible destination for the 33-year-old.
Newcastle refusing to let Kieran Trippier leave on loan
However, according to a report from Sky Sports News, Trippier will not be moving to the Super Lig after the clubs interested in signing him on loan withdrew their interest following the Magpies’ refusal to let him leave.
Galatasaray and Fenerbahce were among the interested sides but Newcastle’s reluctance to sanction an exit means the possibility of moving to Istanbul is now out of sight for the experienced right-back.
During his two-and-a-half years at St. James’ Park, Trippier, who has two years left on his contract, has scored four goals and registered 21 assists in 94 games in all competitions.
