King Update: Shoot For Shah Rukh Khan’s Mega-Budget Action Film Postponed To January 2025 Due To THIS Reason; Film To Release In 2026
After the massive success of Pathaan and Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan is returning to the action genre with his upcoming film King. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Siddharth Anand, this highly anticipated film has been in pre-production for some time.

The film’s location had already generated buzz when Box Office Worldwide exclusively revealed that it had been shifted to Budapest, Europe.
The latest update reveals that the team is planning to begin filming in specific weather conditions, which makes January the ideal time to kick things off.
According to sources, Shah Rukh Khan is working closely with Sujoy Ghosh and Siddharth Anand to fine-tune the script and create stunning action sequences, ensuring the film is a visual spectacle.
“Shah Rukh is leaving no stone unturned to make King a blockbuster for the big screen. This will be his comeback after a three-year break, and the team wants it to be special,” a source shared with Bollywood Hungama.

What adds to the excitement is the casting. Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter Suhana Khan will share the screen in this action-packed thriller. Suhana will play Shah Rukh’s protégé, while Abhishek Bachchan is cast as the film’s villain.
The dynamic between these characters is expected to drive the plot, with father and daughter teaming up to bring down Bachchan’s antagonist. “King will be a two-character-driven film, with Shah Rukh and Suhana going head-to-head with Abhishek’s villainous role,” the source added.
The release of King is tentatively set for mid-2026, giving fans plenty of time to build anticipation. Alongside this project, Shah Rukh Khan is also reportedly considering scripts for other films, including the highly anticipated Pathaan 2, which is expected to begin production by late 2025.
As King gears up to hit the big screen, expectations are high, and the collaboration between Shah Rukh, Suhana, and Abhishek Bachchan is sure to draw in fans from across the globe.
