After Shah Rukh Khan & Sons’ Hindi Version, Mahesh Babu To Voice Mufasa In Telugu, Trailer To Be Out On This Date
The legendary lion Mufasa is set to roar in Telugu, with superstar Mahesh Babu lending his voice to the character in the upcoming film Mufasa: The Lion King.
This new version of Disney’s beloved tale follows the success of 2019’s live-action The Lion King and is scheduled for release on 20th December 2024.

Mahesh Babu’s version will be available soon when the Telugu trailer drops on August 26 at 11.07 am. Mahesh Babu expressed his excitement about the role.
He said, “I have always admired Disney’s blockbuster legacy of entertainment and timeless storytelling. The character of Mufasa appeals to me not only as a loving father guiding his son but also as the supreme king of the jungle taking care of his clan. My family means everything to me, and this collaboration with Disney is personally very special as it is an experience I will cherish with my children!”
Bikram Duggal, Head of Studios at Disney Star, highlighted the film’s approach, stating, “Our aim always is to bring a deeper, more personal touch to storytelling and engage with audiences all over the country in a language of their choice. The iconic character of Mufasa has inspired generations, and we are thrilled to have Mahesh Babu Garu bring the voice of Mufasa to life in the Telugu version of Mufasa: The Lion King!”
About Mufasa The Lion King
The film will be released in Indian theatres in multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
Directed by Barry Jenkins, Mufasa: The Lion King combines live-action techniques with photorealistic CGI to tell the origin story of Mufasa. The film explores Mufasa’s rise from an orphaned cub to the revered king of the Pride Lands, alongside his brother Taka and their adventure with a diverse group of characters.
The English version features Aaron Pierre as Mufasa, Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Taka, and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala, among others. The film’s soundtrack includes original songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda, adding a fresh musical dimension to the classic tale.
