The 70th National Film Awards, announced on August 16, 2024, have brought immense joy to the team behind Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva. The fantasy film directed by Ayan Mukerji has bagged three prestigious accolades, making a significant mark on the awards circuit.

Karan Johar Celebrates As Brahmastra Wins Big At 70th National Film Awards

Producer Karan Johar took to Instagram Stories to share his excitement about the film’s success. “So honoured & ecstatic as our labour of love (& light) wins big at the prestigious 70th National Film Awards!” Johar wrote. His post reflects the deep satisfaction of seeing their hard work celebrated on such a grand scale.

Ayan Mukerji Calls It ‘A Special Day’ As He Expresses Gratitude For The Win

Director Ayan Mukerji also shared his thoughts on the achievement. In a heartfelt statement, Mukerji expressed his gratitude, saying, “It’s a special day for us. I am deeply grateful for the recognition Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva has received at the National Awards.”

He highlighted the film’s music as a key element of its success, noting, “The music of the film holds a special place in all our hearts. Pritam Da’s compositions, coupled with Amitabh’s lyrics and with Arijit’s voice, are something I feel so proud and grateful for!”

Mukerji extended his thanks to the entire team, stating, “From the music to the visual effects, we poured a lot of love into making this film, and I thank the entire team for this fantastic collaborative effort that continues to give us so much love.”

Brahmastra At 70th National Film Awards

The film, which stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, with Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy in significant roles, won awards in the Best Film in Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comic categories. Additionally, Arijit Singh earned the Best Playback Singer (Male) award for his soulful performance of “Kesariya,” and Pritam was recognised as Best Music Director (Songs).

Music composer Pritam also shared his excitement, saying, “Thank you Jury. Thank you to the makers and everyone associated with Brahmāstra Part One – Shiva and big thank you to the audience for all their love.”
