Kriti Sanon Calls Adipurush Box Office Failure Truly Disheartening: ‘You Find Yourself In Tears Wondering What Went Wrong’
Actress Kriti Sanon recently talked about how Adipurush’s box office failure affected her emotionally. The 2023 film, which is based on the Ramayana, featured Kriti as Sita and Prabhas as Lord Ram.
Although there was a lot of excitement before its release, the film faced heavy criticism for its visual effects and controversial dialogues. This made Adipurush one of the biggest disappointments in Kriti’s career.
Kriti Sanon Talks About Adipurush Debacle For The First Time
In an interview with Filmfare, Kriti admitted to feeling deep sadness following the film’s disappointing performance. “When a film doesn’t succeed, it’s truly disheartening. You feel a deep sadness and might even find yourself in tears, wondering what went wrong. The goal is never to hurt anyone’s feelings; the intention behind every project is always positive,” she expressed.
The failure of Adipurush was a blow to the entire team, especially given the high expectations surrounding the project.
Kriti also spoke about handling failure with grace. Reflecting on the situation, she said, “However, we must face the reality that sometimes things just don’t click, and it’s crucial to learn from these experiences. As an actor, the best approach is to stay focused, put in the effort, and concentrate on the next project. There are many variables beyond my control, but I strive to ensure that I fulfil my role to the best of my ability.”
Actress On Trolling & Negativity
The Crew actress also shared her views on criticism, revealing how she distinguishes between constructive feedback and baseless negativity. “If feedback is constructive and makes sense, I embrace it positively. However, if it’s simply trolling or negativity, I don’t let it affect me personally. I can distinguish between genuine feedback and comments driven by others’ frustration. When someone critiques my performance, I take it seriously,” Kriti stated.
Kriti added that her family plays a vital role in providing honest feedback, particularly after watching her films together. “At home, after watching my films together, we have a chai session the next morning where my family gives me honest feedback on what they liked and didn’t like. I believe constructive criticism is beneficial. But it’s important not to let all types of criticism get to you too deeply,” she shared.
Kriti Sanon: Work Front
On the professional front, Kriti is eagerly awaiting the release of her next film Do Patti, which marks her debut as a producer. The film, set to premiere on Netflix, stars Kajol alongside Kriti.
