‘Baseless & Untrue’ Akshay Kumar Has Not Signed A Remake Of Tirangaa With NH Studioz, It’s An Original Script – Producer REACTS!
Recent reports suggested that Akshay Kumar was set to star in a remake of the 1993 classic Tirangaa, featuring Nana Patekar and Raaj Kumar. It was also mentioned that Narendra Hirawat of NH Studioz would be producing this remake. However, producer Hirawat has now clarified the situation.
Talking to Bollywood Hungama, Hirawat denied these rumours, emphasising that the film starring Akshay Kumar is not a remake.
NH Studioz Dismisses The Claims Of Akshay Kumar’s Next Being A Tirangaa Remake
Narendra Hirawat stated, “In the last few days, there have been a few media reports stating that we are producing a remake of the film Tirangaa with Shri Akshay Kumar in the lead. We would like to hereby affirm that this news is completely baseless and untrue. Yes, we are indeed producing a film with Shri Akshay Kumar in the lead but we would like to categorically state that it is NOT a remake of any film. “
He added, “It is a completely new and original script. An official announcement regarding the same will be made soon.”
Hirawat’s most recent project was Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, a love saga directed by Neeraj Pandey and starring Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shantanu Maheshwari, and Saiee M Manjrekar. As for Akshay Kumar, he was last seen in the biopic Sarfira. His upcoming film, Khel Khel Mein, is set for release on August 15.

Kumar has a busy slate of films lined up after Khel Khel Mein. These include the aerial action thriller Sky Force, scheduled for October 2, and the eagerly anticipated Singham Again set for a Diwali release.
Additionally, he will be seen in the period courtroom drama Sankara, the comedic legal film Jolly LLB 3 with Arshad Warsi, and the large-scale comic capers Welcome To The Jungle and Housefull 5. He will also star in the Pan-India film Kannappa and another project with Narendra Hirawat.
Outside of his film career, Akshay Kumar recently made headlines for his charitable work. He visited Haji Ali Dargah and donated Rs 1.21 crore for the renovation.
