SRK To Be Honoured With Leopard Achievement Award At The Prestigious Event
Later today, Shah Rukh Khan will be honoured with the prestigious Honorary Leopard Achievement Award at the Locarno Film Festival. This award celebrates his outstanding contributions to Indian cinema, spanning over 100 films across a variety of genres.
The award ceremony will take place in the evening at Piazza Grande. To honour his work, the festival will also screen Devdas (2002), directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and SRK will engage in an open conversation at the Forum @Spazio Cinema on Sunday, August 11.
Shah Rukh Khan: Work Front
On the professional front, Shah Rukh Khan had an extraordinary run at the box office in 2023 with three blockbuster hits: Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki. Pathaan, released in January 2023, marked SRK’s grand return to the big screen after a four-year hiatus. Starring alongside Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, the film was a massive success.
In September 2023, Jawan hit theatres and quickly became the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time, earning a staggering ₹643 crore nett in India. The film featured an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Nayanthara, Ridhi Dogra, and Vijay Sethupathi.
Capping off the year, Shah Rukh Khan starred in Dunki, released in December 2023. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film explored the challenges faced by those taking the unconventional “Donkey Flight” route. The movie also starred Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu.
