Big Bull Song Launch: Sanjay Dutt REVEALS Why He Likes To Play Negative Characters, Is Open To Romance Dramas: ‘I Can Do One More Saajan’
Sanjay Dutt has expressed his interest in returning to romance dramas, revealing that he would be keen to star in a film like his 1991 hit Saajan. The actor, known for his extensive career spanning over 40 years, stated that he is open to romantic roles if the script is compelling.
Saajan, directed by Lawrence D’Souza, was a rare romantic drama in Dutt’s action-heavy filmography. The film also starred Madhuri Dixit and Salman Khan and remains a memorable part of his career.

While Interacting with the audience, he said, “I will do romance if a good film comes. My generation worked for mass, so we are massy heroes. I did Saajan once. It was a good film with good songs. I can do one more Saajan,” Dutt said.
Dutt made these comments at the launch of the song “Big Bull” from his upcoming Telugu film Double iSmart. In the film, Dutt plays the antagonist, a role he relishes for its action-packed nature.
The actor, who has also played villainous roles in Leo and KGF: Chapter 2, enjoys the challenges these characters bring. “Negative is a good space to be in. One can do a lot. I get to do a lot of action. It’s good that there is something to do for actors after so many films,” he noted.
About His Film Double iSmart
Double iSmart, directed by Jagannadh Puri and starring Ram Pothineni, is a sequel to the 2019 sci-fi action hit iSmart Shankar. The film continues the story of an assassin who aids the police after a deceased cop’s memories are implanted in his brain.
Produced by Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur under their banner Puri Connects, Double iSmart will hit theatres on August 15. The film will be released in multiple languages including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
