Sidharth Malhotra Out Of Meghna Gulzar’s Next Due To Fee Issues, Shooting Balwinder Singh Janjua’s Action Film Mitti In Uttarakhand – Report
Sidharth Malhotra’s 2024 has been a rough ride so far. The actor’s latest release, Yodha, produced by Dharma Productions, didn’t fare well at the box office.
Despite being highly anticipated, the film struggled to make an impact. Its lacklustre performance comes as a blow, especially since it had faced multiple delays and was made with a substantial budget of Rs 250 crore but only managed to pull in around Rs 50 crore.

Now, the actor faces another setback. Sources tell Bollywood Hungama that Sidharth is out of Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming film. The split happened after talks broke down over his fee.
The producers reportedly weren’t willing to meet his financial demands, leading to his exit from the project.
Actor Shooting For His Next Action Film Mitti In Uttarakhand
Sidharth’s current focus is on a new project titled Mitti. Directed by Balwinder Singh Janjua, the film is an action drama set against the backdrop of Uttarakhand.
Janjua briefly shared details about the film. He said, “It is an action drama set in Uttarakhand. It is a story about guilt, about living with the baggage of guilt. It is the story of saving your home and your zameen, your mitti. It is about family and relationships.”
This project marks a new chapter for Sidharth, who is looking to rebound from recent disappointments. While the film’s plot delves into deep emotional themes and complex relationships, it’s also set to deliver high-octane action, promising a fresh direction for the actor.
Meanwhile, Sidharth’s mentor, Karan Johar, seems to have no immediate plans to collaborate with him again. Johar and Malhotra’s previous partnership was notably highlighted in Student Of The Year, but it appears there won’t be another joint venture in the near future.
With Mitti underway, Sidharth hopes to turn his fortunes around. The film’s focus on family, relationships, and personal redemption could provide the actor with a much-needed opportunity to showcase his range and connect with audiences once more.
