CONFIRMED! Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 Postponed To Early 2025 Due To THIS Reason
Ajay Devgn‘s Raid 2 will now hit the screens next year. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, who found success with the 2018 hit Raid, this sequel is eagerly awaited. The original film, based on real events, featured Devgn as an honest income tax officer conducting a daring raid. It was both critically acclaimed and commercially successful, setting the stage for this much-anticipated follow-up.
Raid 2 POSTPONED To Early 2025 Due To Singham Again
Raid 2, initially slated for a November 15 release this year, has been postponed. This shift follows the decision to move the release of another Ajay Devgn film, Singham Again, to November 1, pushing it from its original August 15 release date. The proximity of the two releases raised concerns about having two Devgn starrers hitting theatres just two weeks apart.
Addressing these speculations, director Raj Kumar Gupta confirmed the postponement in his conversation with Bollywood Hungama. “Raid 2 is happening early next year. The exact date of the release will come from the producers, but it’s releasing early next year,” Gupta stated.
Riteish Deshmukh As Antagonist In The Sequel
The sequel brings a new antagonist, with Riteish Deshmukh stepping into the role previously played by Saurabh Shukla. Deshmukh, who recently starred in Gupta’s web show Pill, will be seen as Devgn’s nemesis in Raid 2.
Discussing his experience working with Deshmukh, Gupta shared, “More conversation about Raid 2 will happen when the promotions begin, like what character he is playing. But yes, it has been a great experience working with him in Pill and Raid 2.”

Raid 2, starring Ajay Devgn, is an upcoming Hindi-language crime thriller directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. It is a sequel to the 2018 hit Raid, with Devgn reprising his role as the fearless IRS officer Amay Patnaik. This time, the story follows another high-stakes income-tax raid inspired by real-life events, highlighting the efforts of the Income Tax Department to combat white-collar crimes. The film also features Riteish Deshmukh and Vaani Kapoor and is set to release on November 15, 2024.
Production began in January 2024, with shooting locations including Mumbai, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. Fans can expect a gripping narrative filled with suspense and drama, much like the original film.
