Deadpool & Wolverine Box Office: Ryan Reynolds & Hugh Jackman’s Film Surpasses 100-Crore Mark In India By 2nd Weekend, Earns Rs 106.25 Crore
In just ten days, Deadpool & Wolverine has smashed the box office, hitting the century mark. This year, with a dearth of box office hits, it’s only the second Hollywood blockbuster to achieve this feat in India. The only other film to do so was Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which took its entire run to net Rs 106 crores.
Deadpool & Wolverine Crosses Rs 100 Cr Mark In 2nd Weekend
Impressively, Deadpool & Wolverine reached this milestone by the end of its second weekend, significantly quicker than Godzilla x Kong, which took five weeks to hit the same mark. Initially, it looked like the film would cross the 100 crores mark in its first week, but a bigger-than-expected drop on Monday and average weekdays slowed its progress.
Comparing this to the fate of Indian films this year, the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer has done exceptionally well. The only Indian films to enter the 200 crore club this year are Kalki 2898 AD and Fighter.
Meanwhile, Shaitaan and Munjya are the only other films to hit the century mark. With just a few films managing to score big, it’s clear that theatrical releases are finding it increasingly tough to draw in audiences.
Despite the challenges, Deadpool & Wolverine saw growth on Sunday, pulling in another 7.50 crores. This brought its total earnings in India to an impressive 106.25 crores. Today, it is set to surpass Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’s lifetime earnings, making it the highest-grossing Hollywood film of 2024 in India.
