Ulajh: Gulshan Devaiah REACTS After His Film With Janhvi Kapoor Gets POOR Response At The Box Office
Gulshan Devaiah, known for his subtle performances, is being praised for his role in the political thriller Ulajh. Despite the acclaim, the film had a poor start at the box office, earning only Rs 3.57 crore in its first two days.
As Ulajh struggled to attract more viewers, Gulshan took to his X account (formerly Twitter) to share his thoughts on the situation and the challenges of the industry.

In an honest post, Gulshan shared a report on the film’s box office performance and discussed the difficulties of filmmaking.
He wrote, “Struggle is the salt that makes success taste good. The ones who don’t embrace the struggle will never achieve anything worthwhile. This is a tough business. Period.” His words shed light on the uncertain nature of success in the film industry.

When a fan suggested that the future of films is on OTT platforms, where many movies receive recognition, Gulshan respectfully disagreed.
He replied, “Feature films are meant to be seen on the big screen. Hit flop toh chalta rahta hai (Films will either be hits or flops). As pragmatic as I am about a lot of things, I’m not willing to let go of my idealism when it comes to cinema. I also don’t expect people to understand this. It’s a very personal thing for me.”
Gulshan’s views reflect a broader discussion in the industry about the place of traditional cinema in a time dominated by digital streaming. While OTT platforms provide an easy and accessible way to watch films, Gulshan’s passion highlights the unique experience of seeing movies in theatres—something many film enthusiasts still value.
