Triptii Dimri Has THIS To Say About Animal Park With Ranbir Kapoor & The Criticism For First Instalment
Following the success of Animal, fans have been eagerly anticipating the sequel to Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s hit film.
In a recent interview, Triptii Dimri discussed her experience working with Ranbir Kapoor again in Animal Park. She shared that she is uncertain about the film’s shooting schedule.
Here’s What Triptii Dimri Said About Animal Park & Criticism Animal Faced
“For now, honestly, I’m as clueless as the audience is,” Triptii told Variety. “I don’t know when it will start or what’s the story. I just know that it’s going to happen. When, I don’t know.”
She also addressed the backlash Animal faced after its release. “It was a great experience. Yes, a lot of criticism also came along with it. But I think it’s a part and parcel of the game. And every actor has to go through it,” Dimri said. She noted that the experience helped her reach a wider audience. “After Animal, they watched my other work.”
About Animal & Its Controversy
Animal, released on December 1, 2023, revolved around a man and his toxic relationship with his father. The film showed Ranvijay (played by Ranbir Kapoor) as an anti-hero who would go to any lengths to protect his father, even gunning down 200 people with a machine gun. Despite his efforts, he struggled to gain approval from his emotionally unavailable father (played by Anil Kapoor). The film was a box office success, earning over Rs 900 crore worldwide.
However, the film was also criticised for being toxic and misogynistic. Recently, Javed Akhtar cited Animal while addressing the concept of the ‘angry young man’ in films. He mentioned that irrational anger, when not directed at anything specific, turns the character into a caricature.
“I have not seen Animal,” Akhtar said during an episode of We Are Yuvaa. “People told me about it, and I read in the news that he asks her to lick his shoe. She bends down, but thank god they cut it right there.”
Previously, Rashmika Mandanna appeared on Neha Dhupia’s podcast and explained that Animal was “just about a character” who’s “messed in the head.” She called the film “raw, real, and correct,” and stated that despite everything, people enjoyed it.
The anticipation for Animal Park continues to build as fans and critics alike wait to see what Vanga will deliver next. For now, the details remain under wraps, but the excitement is palpable.
Coming back to Triptii Dimri, she is enjoying the praises for her latest release Bad Newz, which is currently running in theatres. She will next appear in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 alongside Kartik Aaryan.
