Jul 23, 2024

Salman Khan house firing case is progressing in court, with a special Mumbai court finding sufficient evidence against six suspects involved in the shooting incident outside the actor’s residence.

Special Judge BD Shelke has reviewed the chargesheet filed by Mumbai police, which lists severe allegations, including attempted murder.

Mumbai Court Says There’re Enough Evidence To Proceed With The Case

According to a PTI report, the court stated that there is sufficient prima facie evidence to proceed against the accused under IPC Section 307 (attempt to murder), Section 34 (common intention), Section 120(B) (criminal conspiracy), along with applicable sections of the MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime) Act and the Arms Act.

The judge remarked, “There is sufficient prima facie material on record for proceeding against the accused, and hence cognisance (of the chargesheet) is taken.”

More About The Firing Case

The six accused in the case are Vickykumar Gupta, Sagarkumar Pal, Sonukumar Bishnoi, Anujkumar Thapan, Mohd Rafiq Choudhary, and Harpal Singh. Thapan has since passed away, reportedly committing suicide while in police custody. The other suspects remain in judicial custody as legal proceedings commence.

The chargesheet presented to the special MCOCA court spans 1,735 pages, divided into three volumes. It includes various investigative documents, confessional statements under the MCOCA, 22 panchanamas, and technical evidence. The police allege that on April 14, two men on a motorcycle fired five shots outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartment in Bandra. The incident caused widespread shock among the 58-year-old actor’s fans and supporters.

On July 8, the Mumbai Police filed the chargesheet, listing nine individuals, including gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Anmol, Bishnoi’s brother, currently imprisoned in Canada, has taken responsibility for the shooting.
