Konkona Sensharma & Laapataa Ladies Fame Pratibha Ranta In Dharmatic Entertainment’s Female-Led Netflix Film?
Karan Johar‘s Dharmatic Entertainment is making waves with an exciting new project. The latest report suggests that Konkona Sensharma and Pratibha Ranta are being considered for lead roles in a female-centric Netflix film produced by Dharma Productions’ digital wing.

According to a report from Peeping Moon, Konkona and Pratibha are expected to lead the cast, with more actors still to be announced. While plot details are under wraps, it’s believed to be a romantic comedy with plenty of lighthearted moments.
The script, written by Yash Keshwani and Sima Agarwal, will be directed by Anubhuti Kashyap, who previously helmed Doctor G starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh.
Before Doctor G was released in 2022, Kashyap had already signed a deal with Dharma Productions. She had cast Ishaan Khatter and Triptii Dimri in a romantic comedy, but the project was shelved for undisclosed reasons. Her latest venture is rumoured to be a modern love story between two female leads. Filming is set to begin in September or October 2024.
It’s The 8th Collaboration Between Dharmatic Ent & Netflix
This project marks Dharmatic Entertainment’s eighth collaboration with Netflix India. Past successful projects include Guilty, Ajeeb Daastaans, Searching for Sheela, Meenakshi Sundareshwar, Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, and The Fame Game. For Konkona, this will be her fifth Netflix film, adding to her impressive list of titles like Cargo, Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare, Ajeeb Daastaans, and Killer Soup.
Dharmatic Entertainment has several projects in the pipeline across various OTT platforms. Amazon Prime Video will soon premiere Call Me Bae with Ananya Panday and Daring Partners featuring Tamannah Bhatia. On August 9, ZEE5 will release Gyaarah Gyaarah, an investigative fantasy drama starring Kritika Kamra, Dhairya Karwa, and Raghav Juyal. Additionally, the third seasons of Disney+ Hotstar’s Student of the Year and Netflix’s Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives are in the works.
Konkona Sensharma & Pratibha Ranta’s Work Front
Konkona Sen Sharma’s upcoming projects include Metro… In Dino, an anthology film by Anurag Basu set to release in theatres on November 29. She is also working on a short film titled Chashma, directed by acclaimed editor Nitin Baid, and is in early talks for a thriller with Junglee Pictures.
Talking about Pratibha Ranta, she recently gained recognition with Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies. After that, she has been signed on for a romantic film with Vikrant Massey.
