Jatt And Juliet 3 Sets New Record With Rs 64 Crore Worldwide Box Office, Highest 1st Week For A Punjabi Film
Jatt And Juliet 3, starring Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa, has been making waves at the box office. It has achieved impressive box office success, grossing a remarkable Rs 64 crore worldwide in its extended eight-day opening week. This milestone sets a new record for Punjabi films, surpassing the previous record of Rs 62 crore held by Carry on Jatta 3.
The film’s overseas performance has been particularly notable, with earnings of USD 4.40 million, compared to Carry on Jatta 3‘s USD 3.45 million. However, in India, Jatt and Juliet 3 trails slightly, collecting Rs 27.70 crore and securing the second-highest position for a Punjabi film.
East Punjab, a crucial market for Punjabi cinema, has been a point of concern. The collections from this region were lower than expected, marking the main difference from Carry on Jatta 3. Elsewhere in India, Jatt and Juliet 3 has performed on par with its predecessor. Despite this, calling it a disappointment might be too harsh, as it still holds the second-highest collections for a Punjabi film.
The expectations were high given the legacy of the Jatt and Juliet franchise. The first instalment grossed Rs 11 crore in East Punjab, far exceeding the previous best of Rs 6 crore. The sequel followed with Rs 14 crore, setting new benchmarks.
Kalki 2898 AD Impacts The Collection Of Jatt And Juliet 3
Jatt And Juliet 3 faced tough competition from Kalki 2898 AD, which impacted its weekend showcase. While hopes were pinned on stronger weekday trends, the holds remained just “good” rather than exceptional.
Despite these challenges, the Diljit Dosanjh starrer still has a chance to become the highest-grossing Punjabi film of all time globally. Much will depend on its performance over the next two weeks. Given that Carry on Jatta 3 also had moderate weekday holds, this could play in favour of Jatt and Juliet 3.
