EXCLUSIVE: Ajay Devgn Starrer Shaitaan Remains Solid In 3rd Week, Crosses 137 Crore Nett; Heading For 150 Crore Nett India And 210 Plus Crore Worldwide Gross Despite New Releases! Super Hit
Shaitaan, the much-awaited horror thriller starring Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Jyotika and Janki Bodiwala, released last week and it promised to be a nerve-racking ride. Film’s trailer got good reception and it’s a much awaited release as dull period at box office needed some momentum. And that is what happened as film has emerged a clean super hit.
The film, directed by Vikas Bahl, tells the story of a family that unwittingly invites a sinister stranger into their home, who unleashes a series of terrifying events involving dark forces and evil spirits. The film brings together powerhouse talents and promises a thrilling experience like never before. It’s an official remake of Gujarati film Vash.
Shaitaan Collects Big 3rd Week Of 20 Crore Nett
Ajay Devgn starrer maintained its pace on 3rd weekend despite more new releases. Film is number 1 film at box office for three weeks now and collected 2.52 crore nett on 3rd Friday. Film jumped big by 80% and collected 4.57 crore nett on 3rd Saturday followed by 4.11 crore nett on 3rd Sunday with little drop due to Homi next day. Film crossed 11.20 crore nett over 3rd weekend and on Holi, it added 3.04 crore nett. Film will collect 17 crore nett in 3rd week which is fantastic. Film added 2.25 crore nett on 3rd Tuesday followed by 1.85 crore nett on 3rd Wednesday and 1.70 crore nett on 3rd Thursday.
Film has total of 137.72 crore nett. Film will take advantage of next two weeks as there are only mid size releases and film can collect for next few weeks in absence of any big release. Film also crossed 195 crore worldwide gross. It is heading for 150 crore nett plus lifetime India depending upon performances of new releases in next two weeks.
Shaitaan Crosses Solid 36 Crore Nett In 2nd Week
Ajay Devgn starrer Shaitaan managed to defy new releases like Yodha and Kungfu Pada 4 on 2nd Friday. Film was collected more than new releases and should collect 5.12 crore nett on day 8. As expected, film jumped by 80% and collected 9.12 crore nett. Film grew further on 2nd Sunday and collected 10.17 crore nett. Film crossed 24.41 crore nett over 2nd weekend which was solid hold.
Film added 3.10 crore nett on 2nd Monday and which is again string hold and almost 70% more than new release Yodha. Film added 3 crore nett on 2nd Tuesday followed by 2.70 crore nett on 2nd Wednesday and 2.30 crore nett on 2nd Thursday.
Film crossed 36.08 crore nett in 2nd week which is a solid hold despite new releases.
Ajay Devgn Starrer Collects 81 Crore Nett India And 117 Crore Worldwide Gross In 1st Week
Ajay Devgn starrer Shaitaan took solid opening in day one and grew with each show. Film crossed 8.35 crore nett in national chains on day one which was fantastic number. Film crossed 15.21 crore nett on day one all India which was way more than anyone’s expectation. Collections were boosted by Maha Shivratri holiday to an extent. Film scored 5th biggest opening day for Ajay Devgn.
On day two, film continued to perform despite coming out of holiday. Film grew by 25% and collected around 19.18 crore nett all India. Film collected 10.60 crore nett in national chains. Film is solid almost across the board – from West Benegal to Orissa to Gujarat. Film collected 20.74 crore nett on Sunday with minor growth. Film has three day total of 55.13 crore nett which is outstanding result.
Film was expected to drop on day 4 Monday but drop is too steep. Film is heading for 7.81 crore nett day 4 which is drop of 50% from day 1. Even if one takes in account Maha Shivaratri aided day one, still drop is big. Film collected 6.57 crore nett on Tuesday with further drop but remain stable on Wednesday with 6.27 crore nett and on Thursday with 5.82 crore nett.
Film has collected 81.60 crore nett in week one. It has also crossed 119 crore worldwide gross.
