Shilpa Shetty Kundra, who was last seen in 2022 film ‘Nikamma’ plays a titular role in her upcoming film, ‘Sukhee’. The film directed by Sonal Joshi and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vikram Malhotra, and Shikhaa Sharma, is a family entertainer that revolves around a Punjabi housewife named Sukhpreet Kalra, aka Sukhee, who attends her school reunion after 20 years and embarks on a journey of rediscovering herself.

Sukhee is a typical Indian housewife who takes care of her husband, played by Amit Sadh, and her two children. She has no time for herself and has forgotten her dreams and passions. She feels trapped in her mundane routine and yearns for some excitement and adventure.
Her life takes a turn when she receives an invitation for her school reunion. She decides to go with her friends, played by Kusha Kapila, Pavleen Gujral, Dilnaz Irani, and Chaitanya Choudhry. The reunion brings back memories of her school days, when she was a confident and ambitious girl who wanted to be a singer.

Sukhee Marks Shilpa Shetty’s Return To Big Screen After 14 Years
Shilpa Shetty, who made her Bollywood debut in 1993 with Baazigar, has been away from the silver screen for a long time. She was last seen in 2022 film ‘Nikamma’ but it bombed at box office and her OTT release Hungama 2 wasn’t appreciated at all by critics and audiences alike.
Sukhee is her first full-fledged role after 14 years. In addition to her, Kusha Kapila also stars in the film who plays partner-in-crime with Sukhee. Sukhee also boasts of a women-led team, with Sonal Joshi as the director, Radhika Anand as the story writer, and Paullomi Dutta as the screenplay writer. The film features Rajpal Yadav, Ravi Kishan, Rajesh Tailang, and Manoj Joshi in supporting roles.
Sukhee is slated to release on September 22, 2023, in theatres across India. The film will also stream on Amazon Prime Video after four weeks of its theatrical release.
